Missing Persons

M991’s focus on missing persons comes from the realization that the same risk factors that make and individual at risk of being trafficked are the same as those that make someone a risk of being a missing person.

Risk Factors for Child Sex and Labor Trafficking

Missing Persons

Our mission is to address the wide range of vulnerabilities that individuals face, which can make them susceptible to manipulation and grooming. These risk factors transcend different geographic areas and circumstances, making it crucial to tackle them head-on.

One of the pressing challenges we face today is the increasing exposure of our youth to online platforms like internet chat rooms and gaming spaces. This unprecedented scale of connectivity also exposes them to potential risks and dangers. Moreover, those who become targets of exploitation often belong to families and communities with limited resources to pursue their missing loved ones.

This is where Mission 991, Inc., a non-profit organization, steps in with valuable experience and resources to assist some of the most marginalized communities, including those in hardest-hit ghettos, remote areas, and among immigrants and native populations. Our firm belief is that by diligently pursuing every lead and focusing on reuniting families, we can uncover exploitation rings and make a more significant impact on trafficking as a whole. Our approach is proactive, aimed at identifying potential victims before they endure years of victimization.

Traditionally, responses to human trafficking have been reactive, but we strive to change this by taking a proactive stance. By doing so, we can work towards a safer future, safeguarding individuals from falling victim to exploitation and ensuring a brighter tomorrow for all. Join us in our quest to create a safer world, one where the vulnerable are protected and families are reunited. Together, we can make a difference.

Response Teams

Mission 991 is looking for additional equipment, volunteers and trained investigators to join the fight. As Mission 991 becomes more known across the country our demand will increase. In the meantime we want to be proactive in the staging of equipment and building a list of talent in different regions. If you believe you can help please reach out at mission991@mission991.org.
